I truly believe that art is everywhere and in anything, one just has to really start looking. It is simple; whilst walking from one place to another, simply look up and you will be surprised about what you see.
Of course, art can be found in museums, art fairs, art galleries and at antiques dealers but there are so many places and moments in life where art can be discovered, if you just open your mind to it. And most important, there are no rules, if you consider it to be art, it is art! It can be found in a book, a hotel, a shop, whilst travelling, even in a conversation!
Here I am sharing my observations on where I see art, what I consider art and how I experience art. My humble (personal) opinion hoping to inspire all who read it.
- Paradise, A Royal RetreatSometime life gets in the way of you sitting done and taking note of what is out there and what inspires you. This was very much the case for me in the last couple of months. Thankfully great projects, the Christmas holidays and starting the new year not only kept me from writing but also gave me inspiration again!… Continue reading

- A vision of ParadiseEven though my day to day work is mainly taken up by creating inspiring partnerships in Arts & Culture, I am also lucky enough to be able to write about another passion. - Diamond in the detailIt has taken me a long time to really appreciate 15th and 16th century portraiture. Until the story of Marten Soolman and Oopjen Coppit (popularly known as ‘Marten&Oopjen’), the Dutch couple painted by Rembrandt in 1634, found in the bedroom of a Rothschild (one cannot have enough Rembrandts beside your bed!) and now owned by The Rijksmuseum and… Continue reading
- Let’s tell the story together!I am lucky enough to work in a field where I am inspired by stories nearly every day! I am surprised by the journey of a photographer, the craftmanship of piece of delicate Chinese porcelain, the family backstories of artisans in India, the reasoning behind an art installation, even the design of an exhibition. Every story is, in the end, always a personal one. Hence why I love what I do. … Continue reading

- All Under One RoofBeing born and raised in the international arts & antiques business I have been more or less brought up at art fairs. I remember, at 14 years old, hoovering the stand and cleaning the protective glass showcases, I will never have a fingerprint on my windows ever again! First being at fairs to support the family and when I got older also as a visitor… Continue reading
- Escapism – Rede(f)sining LuxuryNo country in the world represents ‘art is everywhere’ to me as India. The beauty of its people, the colours in the unforgiving Thar desert, Rajasthan, grand Mughal architecture of days gone by, temples in the heart of bustling tech capital Bangalore. Every step I take is a step into… Continue reading Escapism – Rede(f)sining Luxury
